I've always found books very entertaining. After all, what else can transport you to a deserted island surrounded with dolphins or a drizzly New England city in the year 1880? Here are some recent books that have fueled my imagination.
1. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne
A New Age self-help and spirituality book--but don't let that turn you off. It holds rare concepts that truly make you think outside the box, such as the incredible power of positive thinking.
2. Girl with a Pearl Earring by Tracy Chavalier
Never before had I read such a rich historical novel. It's based on the famous painting by Johannes Vermeer.
3. That Quail, Robert by Margaret A. Stanger
A delightful tale about an adorable female quail, misnamed Robert.
4. The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler
A modern novel that has thought provoking questions about Jane Austen and unforgettable characters. An absolute joy to read.
5. The Law of Success by Napolean Hill
A fascinating book with quotes such as these "Life is not a goblet to be drained; it is a measure to be filled."--Hadley.
Children's Books
1. Stone Soup by Ann McGovern
2. The Chinese-Siamese Cat by Amy Tan
